Ravi Teja slogging hard for ‘Don Seenu’

We know that Pawan Kalyan has been working day and nights on dubbing for Komaram Puli. It looks like Ravi Teja has learnt a lesson or two from the power star, because he too has been slogging for 14 Reels production ‘Don Seenu’.

We hear Ravi Teja is shooting for the climax sequences by day and also started his dubbing for the film by night! Now that’s called some achievement. The film is slated for August 6th release, and the star actor has been giving his all for the film.

‘Don Seenu’ is directed by debutante Gopichand Malineni and it stars Shriya Saran along with Srihari, who has a special role in it. The audio of the film was released last week, and Mani Sharma’s tunes are fast catching with people.

NTR hurt shooting at hill station Manali

Unit members of Shakti were on tense for a day as the film’s star, young tiger NTR slipped from a hillock while filming a scene three days ago. He was immediately rushed to hospital and the entire unit clueless about his health till evening but finally they relieved after the good news that he was discharged in the late hours. The star was slightly injured while shooting in Manali, a beautiful hill station.

Although it was minor injuries, the producer Ashwini Dutt, director Meher Ramesh and others worried as NTR was hurt severely last year during the election campaign in a road accident. Prince Mahesh Babu's Trivikram Srinivas directed film, which has been titled Kaleja, has landed in a title controversy.

Producer S. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy of Nithya Productions claims that he registered the same title earlier and added that he has given the rights of this title to no one! "We are planning to make a movie under same title with Subba Reddy as director and we are going to take this issue to the Film Chamber," he said.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu's Kaleja, produced by Singanamala Ramesh Babu under the banner of Kanakaratna Movies with Anushka in the female lead, is all set for a grand release possibly on August 9, Mahesh Babu's birthday. The film has already completed major portions.

National award winner Prakashraj is all excited about the success of his recent Kannada flick Naanu Naana Kanasu. Now the actor is busy with his forthcoming production Inidhu Inidhu, a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Happy Days. The project is a fresh attempt with an all-new team. Newcomers Adith, Narayanan, Vimal, Saran, Reshmi, Fenas, Jia and Sonia (of Paiyaa fame) play the lead roles. The film is directed by debutant Guhan; music director Micky J. Meyer will make his Kollywood debut with Inidhu Inidhu.

“Inidhu Inidhu is a celebration of youth. The film gives a complete picture of life in a campus, right from the day you walk in to the day you walk out. It revolves around love, anguish, ragging, friendships and heartbreaks; everything that youngsters undergo during those ‘happy’ days. I must say that I enjoyed every bit of the movie, be it scouting for appropriate new faces, intensively training them for the film or helping them evolve as actors. Shaam was a model in Bangalore, and aspired to be in movies one day. As fate would have it, his first tryst with cinema was in Kushi, where he played a small role as Vijay's friend. He soon burst into Kollywood with 12B, directed by late Jeeva. He then starred in several films, including Ullam Ketkume, Iyarkai, Thoondil and Inba.

Shaam's performance in his debut Telugu flick Kick was widely appreciated and now the actor is back in Kollywood with a bang in Thillalangadi, remake of Kick.“When people saw the tough guy in Thillalangadi, they instantly asked where was this Shaam all these days? So, from now, I want to focus more on action. But that doesn’t mean I won’t take up romantic roles. If an interesting script like that of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa comes up, why not?” the actor said.

“Tamil people want their heroes to be tough. And since I have already played chocolate boy roles, I did not want to get stuck with that particular image. I thought it would be a good idea to attempt another genre and prove that I am a versatile actor too,” he added.

“Most films in the recent times are multi-starrers. Instead of the usual song and dance routine and one guy bashing up a bunch of goons, it’s quite different to do a role in which you appear for just five scenes. But solo projects do matter a lot for the image of an actor. My next release, Agam Puram, is a solo hero project. It’s a larger than life role,” he said. shankar 3 Idiots remakes only after Endhiran

A spokesperson of Gemini Film Circuit (GFC), which bagged the Tamil-Telugu remake rights of the biggest Hindi blockbuster 3 Idiots from its original producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, confirmed that this project will take place after numero uno director Shankar releases his magnum opus Endhiran starring Rajinikanth.

Asked why, Shankar (who normally does not do remakes) accepted this project, the spokesperson said: "After doing a film (Endhiran) which cost more than Rs. 100 crores, he cannot go back to doing mundane movies. The remake of 3 Idiots is a bilingual and features big stars like Vijay and Mahesh. It cannot get bigger than this."

Meanwhile, Shankar’s publicist tweeted that Vijay, Simbu and Madhavan, along with Sathyaraj (playing the role made memorable by Boman Irani), will feature in the Tamil version of 3 Idiots, while the only change in the Telugu version will be Mahesh Babu replacing Vijay. More details are awaited.

Ravi teja New movie Mirpakaya begins

while his latest offering Don Seenu is all set to grace screens next week, Ravi Teja has begun the shooting of his next film Mirpakaya in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The movie is directed by Harish Shankar and is produced by Ramesh Puppala under the banner of Yellow Flowers.

In this schedule, the unit will shoot the talkie portions. The next schedule will begin on August 16 in Delhi, a source said. Ravi Teja has two heroines in this flick: Leader fame Richa Gangopadhyay and Vedam fame Deeksha. Richa will reprise the role played by Giselle Monteiro in the original.

A.R. Rahman Will avoid assignments in India

If reports are to be believed, to overcome this shortage of time, A.R. Rahman is now planning to implement a new time management strategy! And what is that? Sources suggest the composer is seriously thinking of putting all domestic assignments on hold to concentrate on building his career abroad, else he feels he would lose the international advantage he obtained after Slumdog Millionaire!

"The Indian assignments after Slumdog Millioniare have been very time-consuming, especially Raavan where Rahman not only had to do two versions of the music in Hindi and Tamil, but director Mani Ratnam also asked him to give 3–4 tunes for every lyric before one was selected. The music of Raavan took more time than Rahman could afford, with the result that other Indian assignments, primarily Abbas Tyrewala’s untitled John Abraham-Pakhi starrer, got delayed," a friend of A.R. Rahman was quoted as saying.

"Rahman had to continuously keep breaking his international tours and other projects, because he has to be constantly moving back and forth between India and the US for various reasons like the music release of Raavan. He has begun to feel that his international career would never take off if he has to keep returning home," he also said, emphasizing that the composer has not signed a single new assignment in Mumbai or Chennai in the last few months. So, according to the current plan, after completing Abbas Tyrewala’s music, Rahman will focus on consolidating his career abroad.

Sumanth's film completes first schedule

Debut director Vigisipi Vishta's untitled triangular love story, produced by Kumar brothers with Sumanth, Priyamani and Vimala Raman in the lead, has completed its first schedule.

The second schedule will commence from September 2 in Bangkok, Patai and Puket Island and would continue until September end, the makers informed.

Slated for a Deepavali release, the film has Brahmanandam playing a key role. Others in the cast are Ali, Sayaji Shinde, Hema, Giribabu and MS. Music is by Koti and cinematography by John. Story, screenplay and dialogues are by the director himself.

The much talked about movie of Surender Reddy with young hero Ram seems to be shelved.

Surender Reddy, after his super hit movie ‘Kick’ was approached by veteran producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore to direct a movie with his nephew Ram as hero. Even the launch was informed but things seem to have taken a U-Turn and the project has come to a halt.

A few announcements about the movie like project being titled ‘Ram and Jenny’, high technical values being implemented, etc. were made but all seem to have been washed off. According to sources, difference of opinions had risen between the producer and director leading to the shelving of the project.

A few days ago as reported by IndiaGlitz, Ram will work with Karunakaran while Surender Reddy is getting ready with a script to worth with another hero.

Shelving of projects is not new to Telugu cinema or its directors. Puri Jagannath’s proposed projects have not seen light. Like his project with Balakrishna and also his ambitious project with Amitabh Bachchan in Hindi both being shelved.

Asin in more trouble

The Federation of Tamil Associations of North America (FeTNA), an umbrella body of more than 30 Tamil organisations across the United States, said on Monday that it would boycott films starring Asin because of her visit to Sri Lanka.

This decision comes a day after the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) said on Sunday that a joint consultative committee would decide on the action to be taken against actors visiting Sri Lanka.

In a statement, FeTNA chief Palani Sundaram said, “The Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America will boycott films of Asin because of her visit to Sri Lanka despite a ban by the Tamil film industry.”

Meanwhile, the actress, who was in Mumbai on Monday, said she did not flout any diktat of the Nadigar Sangam as she stayed away from the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award ceremony in the island nation.

“I spoke to SIFAA president Sarath Kumar and I am ready to abide by the joint committee’s direction,” she reportedly said. The committee comprises the Film Employees Federation of India, SIFAA, Tamil Film Producers Council, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce and directors association among others.

anushka ‘Kanchana’ Shooting in Chennai

‘Happy Days’ Ready in also Tamil

To the uninformed: The remake rights of Shekhar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days’ were bought by versatile actor Prakash Raj. Almost the whole movie is complete except for some minor touch ups and it is expected to release in September 2010.

The title for the Tamil version is ‘Inidhu Inidhu’ that is produced by Prakash Raj’s Duet Movies’. Just like how it was in Telugu, new actors are introduced through this movie. Apparently all the actors were hand picked by Prakash Raj. Cinematographer Guhan is turning as a director with this movie.

Mickey J Meyer will score the music for the Tamil version as well. Names of characters like ‘Tyson’, ‘Appu’, ‘Shravs’, etc. have been retained and the original essence of the movie has been retained.

Posani’s next Suspense Thriller

However, there is a deadly threat round the corner for this film in the form of piracy. The film has already been pirated and the download links are being uploaded at a high speed.
Despite Rajamouli’s special care and efforts to fight piracy, the pirates are successful in uploading the movie download links.
“We’ve hired 4 teams2 constantly browse the net and delete the links for MR as soon as they find a link they will send a legal notice to the website. The web sites usually remove the links within 24 hours. If they don’t we book them under cyber crime and site will be closed down. But that 24 hrs gap is proving costly. So far 43 links have been deleted,” Rajamouli informed on Twitter.
There are hundreds of torrent sites and the pirated links are also being circulated though emails that it will be a Herculean task for the crew to evade the threat completely. Audience should themselves realize the harm being done to film industry due to online piracy and should stop visiting those sites. Hope Maryada Ramanna survives the threat with little damage.

Ram confirmed that his film with Surender Reddy was pushed back. But he didn’t agree with the media reports that this film is shelved due to budget issues.
“Just for a clarification. Surender’s film has been pushed. And NO! Not because of any budget issues. Let’s just say that the script did not turn out as planned and Surender and I didn’t get necessary ‘KICK’ out f it. Will go ahead with Karunakaran’s and one more, details soon,” Ram clarified on his Twitter page.
There is a speculation that his film under Karunakaran is titled ‘Edure Ledu’. Ram condemned these speculations too and said that this film’s title is yet to be decided. Director Karunakaran is on a roll with Ullasamga Utsahamga and Darling. Ram hopes that he will complete the hit-hattrick with his film.

Dil Raju is making a movie on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner with Akkineni Nagarjuna as hero in "Aakashamantha" fame Radhamohan’s direction.

Its title has been confirmed as "Gaganam". Speaking in the press meet, Nagarjuna said That whenever he felt happy while doing a particular movie, that film became a super hit.

"I felt very happy in doing this movie ("Gaganam") also. So, this flick is certainly going to be a super hit. During its filming, every day I used to get the feeling of going to Tirupathi in the morning and coming back to Hyderabad in evening, because Tirupathi airport set was laid so naturally that it almost looked like the original." Nagarjuna and Prakash Raj starrer film titled Gaganam

Gaganam has been chosen as the title for Nagarjuna and Prakash Raj starrer film produced by Dil Raju. At a special press meet held yesterday (July 23, 2010) at State Art Gallery in Hyderabad, the title was announced it officially. “We invited mails from people to select best title for the film from Gaganam, Wanted and Payanam.

Majority of people are in favor of Gaganam, which again is my personal pick. So we announcing the title,” Nagarjuna said.

Nag also said that the film has come out so well and he cherishes this experience. “The way director Radha Mohan filmed it is amazing. It is new kind of film. A lavish set of an airplane has been erected at Film City and you’d not recognize it as a set if you see in the movie,” he added.

Producer Dil Raju said that he is planning to release on the eve of Vijaya Dasami in October.

Allu Arjun, Naga Chaitanya choose Tamannaah
